Church Services
Thank you, Thrive, for inviting our family to perform at your gathering on Sunday afternoon. Daddy enjoyed preaching about Job and animals. My sisters and I really loved the hot chocolate and coffee.
Thank you, Melissa, for inviting our family to perform at your National Nursing Home Week event this week. It was a joy to be a part of your ministry at the Wesley Commons in Greenwood. We appreciated the sweet faces smiling up at all of us. Bailey, the parrot, was a big hit! We have posted a couple of photos of him, too. 🙂 May the Lord bless your time as you serve these dear folks. They are blessed to have you for activities director.
Thank you, Golden Agers, for having our family back for your luncheon entertainment. One of our children exclaimed, “This is a very friendly church!” That is a true statement. We appreciated your kindness to us, and your sweet spirits. The food was, as Gregory put it, “Another home-run!” Once again, everything tasted extra good. We pray the Lord blesses your special group!
Thank you Padgett’s Creek Baptist Church for inviting our family to join you with entertainment in your Family Life Center last Tuesday evening. The dinner really hit the spot, and we were so thankful for your friendly spirits. One thing that impressed us was your love for one another during the prayer request time before the meal.
Thank you Ottaray Baptist Church for inviting us to preach and provide the music in your morning service. We appreciated all of the support shown to us through the message and music. It was a blessing to be in the midst of believers that desire to live purely in our world. May the Lord bless your sweet congregation!
Our family felt so blessed at the warmth shown to us at Rock Presbyterian Church last night. After hearing so much about your church, Daddy enjoyed finally meeting all of the wonderful folks. Thank you for inviting us to sing and play and partake in your delicious dinner. It was a joy to look around and see such unity among your congregants.
Rock of Ages had a wonderful time at Five Forks Baptist Church’s Night of Carols. We are thankful for the request to sing and play. Priscilla participated in the hand bell’s choir as well as performed a violin solo. Peter played the organ and piano and sang carols with his sisters (Priscilla, Susanna, and Phebe) and brother (Luke). It was a special night praising our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and celebrating His miraculous birth.
We have enjoyed being part of the ladies’ Bible study at Westminster Presbyterian Church in Greenwood. We are thankful for their invitation to provide music. Below is a link to their website regarding our special time:
The Tuesday Morning Bible Study was blessed to have the Rock of Ages Family Musicians join us on 10-13-2015…
What a special weekend our family shared at Lucas Avenue Baptist Church. The different preachers on Saturday gave powerful messages that revived our souls. Thank you for inviting us to minister in music on Sunday morning. We enjoyed ourselves, and the dynamic heart of your pastor, Michael Post, was so refreshing.
Thank you so much, New Prospect Baptist Church in Laurens, SC, for having our family come and do a program for MAC! The food was delicious and the fellowship was sweet. The pretty fall bouquet in the wooden planter is sitting in our kitchen. 🙂 We loved the fall tree in the corner of your fellowship hall, and I couldn’t help but take a picture and put it on our website. May the Lord bless your sweet group of believers. We enjoyed meeting each one of you!

A sweet saint we visit in the hospital started calling us the Rock of Ages, and the name stuck.
This sweet elderly lady went home to be with the Lord this week. The world has lost an extraordinary woman. Helen was such an inspiration to our family. We were so blessed to have known her toward the end of her life. We would visit her, read the Bible, pray, and our children would sing and play their instruments—oftentimes she’d raise her hand and direct their music. Sometimes she’d ask them to work on one of her favorite hymns to sing the next time.
We’d hope to be an encouragement to her but often walked away being so refreshed ourselves. And, wow! Did she know the Scriptures! She loved our Savior Jesus Christ, too, and often spoke about her faith. She’d quote verses and tell our children to love and honor us as their parents. She’d turn to my husband and me and bless us with her support and love. She’d inspire us in our parenting and marriage—often times in the form of catchy phrases and poems. She was precious.
When we would leave her room, she’d hold our hands and give the children the latest handshakes ending with fist bumps. She’d kiss my hand, I’d bend down and kiss hers, and she’d always tell us to hurry back and not to forget her. We’ll never forget dear sweet Helen, and I know we’ll see her again someday. Praise God for eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord!
