The Scriptures
We believe that the Holy Scriptures as contained in the Old and New Testaments have been given by inspiration of God, and are the infallible, inerrant, perfect preserved Word of God [2 Timothy 3:15-17; Psalm 12:6-7].
We believe that the Holy Scriptures are the very words of God [Proverbs 30:5; 2 Peter 1:19-21; Matthew 4:4].
We believe that God has supernaturally preserved His Word to the present day [Psalm 12:6-7].
We believe that the Holy Scriptures are foundational to all of life, and that they should be the sole authority upon which we live [2 Timothy 3:15-17].
God
We believe in one God that eternally exists in three distinct persons, the Father, the Son and the Holy Ghost. We believe that God is present everywhere (omnipresent), knows all things (omniscient) and is all powerful (omnipotent) [1 John 5:7; 2 Corinthians 13:14; Psalm 139:1-6; 2 Chronicles 20:6].
We believe that Jesus Christ is God’s Son, and that He:
- Was eternally pre-existent with the Father and Holy Ghost (had no beginning) [Micah 5:2].
- Was the full embodiment of God in the flesh, with no diminution of His deity while on the earth [1 Timothy 3:16; Philippians 2:6-7].
- Was born of a virgin [Isaiah 7:14; Matthew 1:18-23; Luke 1:35].
- Lived a sinless life and was crucified upon a cross for the sins of the world [Hebrews 4:15; John 19:16-18].
- Was resurrected bodily [Luke 24:39].
- Ascended into Heaven where He is now our Intercessor, Advocate and High Priest [John 3:13; Romans 8:34; Hebrews 3:1; Hebrews 7:25; 1 John 2:1].
We believe that the Holy Ghost:
- Convicts of sin [John 16:7-8].
- Brings about a new birth unto salvation [John 3:5; Titus 3:5].
- Brings comfort and assurance to God’s children and enables them to live godly lives [John 14:16-17; Romans 8:26].
Satan
We believe in the existence of Satan, a fallen angel and the god of this world, who has blinded the eyes of the unbelievers [Luke 10:18; 2 Corinthians 4:4].
We believe that through the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, Satan was dealt a fatal blow which awaits him at the final judgment where he will be thrown into the lake of fire in everlasting torment [Genesis 3:15; Revelation 20:10].
Creation
We believe that the creation account as recorded in the book of Genesis is factual history.
We believe that the triune God created the heavens and the earth and all that is in them in six days through the spoken Word [Genesis 1:1; Genesis 2:1-2; Exodus 20:11; John 1:1-3; Colossians 1:16; Hebrews 1:2].
We believe that the creation event occurred approximately 6,000 years ago [Exodus 20:11; Mark 10:6; Luke 3:23-38].
Sin
We believe that the first created soul was Adam, and that he sinned in rebellion against God [Genesis 2:19; Genesis 3:17].
We believe that because of Adam’s sin all are born as sinners under the curse of God [Romans 5:12].
We believe that although all are born sinners, we willfully choose to continue in sinful rebellion against God [Psalm 14:1-3; Romans 3:23].
We believe that all unrighteousness is sin [1 John 3:4; 1 John 5:17].
We believe that unless a sinner has their sin paid for (atoned), that sinner will suffer the consequences of sin in everlasting damnation and Hell [Matthew 25:41,46; John 3:36; 2 Thessalonians 1:8-9].
Salvation
We believe that as sinners we have no possible remedy for salvation within ourselves apart from Jesus Christ [Ephesians 2:8-9].
We believe that Jesus Christ is the only way to salvation [Acts 4:12; John 14:6].
We believe that salvation is available for all, that God does not show respect of persons, and that God is not willing that any should perish [Romans 10:12-13; Hebrews 2:9; Deuteronomy 10:17; Romans 2:11; 2 Peter 3:9].
We believe that salvation is by faith in the finished work of Jesus Christ alone, and is a gift of grace from God. We believe that saving faith is preceded by godly sorrow, repentance and the fear of God [Ephesians 2:8-9; 2 Corinthians 7:9-11; Luke 13:3,5; Acts 3:19].
We believe in the Scriptural admonition to examine ourselves to see if we are of the faith. We believe that faith without works is dead. We believe that a professing faith is of no value if the individual is not a new creature in Christ who bears the fruits of the Holy Spirit [2 Corinthians 13:5; James 2:20,26; 2 Corinthians 5:17; Galatians 5:22-24; James 2:20,26; Titus 3:5].
We believe that a true believer is justified and made wholly righteous in the eyes of God, and is sealed by the Holy Spirit of God unto salvation [Romans 3:24-28; Ephesians 1:13-14].
Last Things
We believe that Jesus Christ will come a second time to judge the world of sin and set up a literal kingdom on earth which will last for a thousand years [1 Thessalonians 1:7-8; 2 Timothy 4:1; Revelation 20:12-13; Revelation 20:4].
We believe that before this great Day of the Lord all true believers, both living and dead, will be raised and caught up into the sky to meet the Lord in the air [Matthew 24:31; 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17].
Eternal Destiny
We believe that at death the spirits of the saved are immediately with Jesus Christ in Heaven, awaiting the resurrection where they will inherit new immortal bodies [2 Corinthians 5:6-8; Philippians 1:23; 1 Corinthians 15:52-54].
We believe that Heaven is a real place where saints enjoy everlasting fellowship with God and each other [Revelation 21:1-3].
We believe that at death the spirits of the damned go immediately into Hell awaiting the final day of judgment, at which time their bodies will be raised from the grave, they will stand before God for judgment, and will be cast into the lake of fire, the place of final and everlasting punishment [Luke 16:23; Revelation 20:12-15].
We believe that Hell is a real place with literal flames of fire and darkness where damned sinners will spend a conscious eternity of torment with weeping and gnashing of teeth [Matthew 13:41-42; Luke 13:27-28; Luke 16:23; Jude 1:13].
Separation from the World
We believe that followers of Jesus Christ should separate themselves from the evil practices and ways of the world in conformity to His Word and will [2 Corinthians 6:14-17; Ephesians 5:11].
We believe that although believers should not partake of the world’s sin, they should be a strong influence in their particular area of the world through work and associations with others, always trying to win others to salvation through Jesus Christ [John 17:15; Philippians 2:15; Jude 1:23].
